We have some concerns with this planning application. We acknowledge that the existing petrol station has illuminated signage of a similar scale, but the surrounding area is mainly characterised 2 storey residential development. The addition of a 7m high internally illuminated pole sign would potentially be harmful to the residential character and scale of the surrounding area. Is it possible to incorporate this signage into the already existing pole sign of the petrol station, or to reduce its height and massing to be more sensitive to the neighbouring development?
