OPT object to the use of red finish metal roofing for the proposed rear extension to 37 Great Clarendon Street. Given the application sites location within the heart of the Jericho Conservation Area, it is crucial that new development is sensitive to the historic character of the area.
We believe the use of red metal roofing will result in a visually dominant addition to the street scene, out of character with the neighbouring development. We would urge the applicants to consider the use of a more appropriate material – in keeping with the traditional materials found within the Jericho Conservation Area.
