We support this planning application. Change of use from commercial to residential of buildings in the city centre will help to alleviate Oxford’s housing need whilst also repopulating the city centre. Whilst it is unfortunate that the initial scope of this project has not been realised, this application still represents a positive shift in how vacant commercial units are used within city and district centres, providing homes at a relatively low carbon cost through the reuse of existing building stock.
