We support this planning application. 33 Holywell Street is a designated heritage asset within the Oxford Central Conservation Area. The proposed scheme seeks to rebuild the damaged chimney stacks with handmade bricks and a more sensitive lime mortar. The re-rendering is also proposed to be carried out with lime, removing the 20th century cement render.

The regular maintenance and repair of historic buildings is essential to their survival and the proposed use of sensitive, appropriate materials constitutes good conservation practice and should be granted consent.
