We support this application. Adaptive reuse from commercial to residential use at this scale will help to alleviate the housing need in Oxford. Retaining the building will reduce the whole life carbon impact of the site and limit carbon cost in construction. Maintaining the building’s active edge by preserving the ground floor retail units will benefit the surrounding public realm and improve natural surveillance.
