While we support the return of an active use to the currently empty unit, internally illuminated signage goes against the council’s Shopfront and Signage Technical Advice Note (TAN 10). The application site is located at the main entrance to the Castle Quarter, it is regretful that the application does not take reference from the TAN. A more sympathetic approach to the site’s historic setting would be more appropriate.
