Our Response:
August 2025
We support this planning application. The proposed rear extension to 106 Walton Street will provide 5 independent dwellings in an otherwise underutilised space. The proposed scheme responds well to Jericho’s wider character area, characterised by 19th century terraced houses, following the line of existing urban forms.
Infill development like this is a sustainable way to increase density in existing urban areas. Development of this type should form a part of the City Council’s strategy to increase density and provide more housing in city and district centres.
We are also pleased to see included within this proposal the removal of the UPVC windows from the existing building, and their replacement with appropriate timber sash windows.
