Record numbers of Snake’s Head Fritillaries found on OPT land.

OPT are delighted to announce a record number of the much loved but unfortunately rare Snake’s Head Fritillaries on one of their carefully cared for meadows.
Thanks to some early warm weather, the flowers have bloomed around three weeks early on Hinksey Meadow and have reached a total count of 327. This record number is thought to be a direct result of careful management involving activity such as aftermath grazing by cattle after a summer hay cut. Happy smiles all round in the OPT offices!
