East St. Helen Street Window Restoration

We are excited to share the news that we are back restoring the window at our medieval merchant’s house at 26 East St. Helen Street, Abingdon which has been dated to 1430. Intricate work repairing existing and carving the carefully selected timbers has been happening offsite at the carpenter’s workshop so that yesterday we could return to the house for the next stage of the work to happen.
Although you are currently not able to visit the house due to coronavirus, we hope to allow public access when it is safe to do so.

With greatest thanks to Owlsworth Conservation for carrying out the work!
