The Covered Market
Have you seen that we’re on site at The Covered Market?
We’re working in partnership with Oxford City Council to restore the former John Lindsey & Son butchers, units 46 to 48.
The stalls are in the earliest surviving part of The Covered Market, dating to c.1840.
A lath and plaster ceiling, wrought iron trusses, original stone columns and well-preserved flagstone flooring has already been discovered.
This past week or so, work has included plaster application to walls and brickwork, cleaning of paint from stone columns and drainage works.
