We are a forward-thinking independent heritage charity who will celebrate 100 years in 2027 and are committed to widening participation across our projects, green spaces, and historic properties. As part of the Oxford Preservation Trust team, you will need to share our passion for Oxford and enjoy working hard and supporting each other to make a difference.
As Engagement Officer you will be responsible for the development and delivery of high-quality community engagement projects for OPT, including the opportunity to expand our successful “Discovering Heritage & Green Spaces” programme, helping Oxford’s varied communities to celebrate their local heritage. We are looking for someone who will ensure engagement is a key activity across all areas of our work and collaborate with key partners and stakeholders, including our partners Oxford Castle & Prison. You will deliver innovative engagement opportunities and events to create inspiring experiences that widen participation and support audience development.
We welcome candidates from a wide range of backgrounds, experience in education, cultural, heritage or arts organisations would be an advantage. We seek to celebrate Oxford in all its diversity and welcome applicants with characteristics under-represented in the heritage sector.
This is a full-time, 3-year fixed term post based between Oxford Castle Education Room and the OPT office, it is anticipated that the post will require a combination of community based, office and home working.
Salary: £32,000 - £35,000 per annum depending on experience.
