Meadow Lane island Conservation Work Party - Sun 11 Aug, 10am
Join Oxford Conservation Volunteers for our annual management visit to this 'island' in the Thames where hundreds of snake's-head fritillaries flower every spring. Today we will be scything and raking up the sedges to give space for the fritillaries to grow.
We will start at about 10am and finish at 4pm - come along for as long as you like. Hot drinks and biscuits are provided in a mid-morning break; bring your own packed lunch. There's always plenty to do to suit all ages and abilities, and no previous experience is necessary. Please wear stout shoes or wellies and old clothes, and bring gardening gloves if you have them as they will probably fit better than any we lend. Hand tools will be provided, but you're welcome to bring your own. Contact Rachel for more information.
