St Margaret's Church, Binsey
Drop-in
Rustic Grade I Listed church, dating from 12th to 15th century. Outside is a pilgrimage well, dedicated to St Margaret of Antioch with connections to St Frideswide, the patron saint of Oxford. This became the model for Lewis Carroll’s ‘treacle well’ in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. There is also a recently planted Psalm 23 garden to aid meditation and prayer.
Partially accessible - Steps up to the chancel.
