Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery Opening and Talks
Drop-in
This War Graves cemetery is the final resting place for 741 service men and 2 women who died in the two World Wars. It is laid out in the same pattern as the Commission’s cemeteries in Northern France, with a Cross of Sacrifice, designed by Sir Reginald Blomfield; a Stone of Remembrance, by Sir Edwin Lutyens; and a shelter, as advocated by Sir Herbert Baker.
On Sunday there will be talks at 10.30 and 2.00 about the cemetery and particular graves of interest.
