Vacancies - Assistant Heritage & Planning Officer

We are a well-established and forward-thinking charity, working hard to improve, protect and give access to Oxford and its green setting. We have a forward-thinking approach, and restore heritage which would otherwise be lost, take a proactive interest in development and planning, and undertake an active programme of outreach including our own Heritage Open Days, Oxford Open Doors.
You’ll work in a small team in this varied and interesting post which offers an unusually broad range of opportunities to gain heritage and planning experience.
Current projects include Oxford Castle, the Shakespeare Painted Rooms with their 16th century wall paintings, the opening up of a row of 17th century cottages and restoring a19th century railway swing bridge on the heritage at risk register. You will have an active role in new architecture and good design helping to organise the annual OPT Awards and be a crucial part of our planning work, membership programme, and our award-winning Heritage Open Days event, Oxford Open Doors.

This is a full-time role, though some flexibility may be possible. The role is a 1 year temporary contract with the likelihood of renewal depending on funding available.
Salary: £19,000-£25,000 per annum depending on experience.
