Larkins Lane Field

A hidden field bought in celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee

This small 1.95 acres of field and woodland were bought in celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in 2022, with contributions from members and the public. The two small areas of woodland contain a small spring-fed stream, dense woodland matt of moss and ivy and a mix of deciduous trees of varying ages. The field's history ranges from meadow, pasture, allotments and locally commercial flower growing, so its soil and vegetation varies from top to bottom of its gently sloping hill towards the Northern by-pass.

The management of this field is encouraging the increase of wildlife, biodiversity, carbon capture and enjoyment by the public.
