The Trust's forward thinking approach is most ably demonstrated by its role as one of the key partners in the award-winning Oxford Castle regeneration project, linking the site into the city for the first time in its 1000-year history.

The Trust received a £3.8 million Heritage Lottery Fund grant to create the Oxford Castle Unlocked visitor attraction in the 11th century Castle, giving access to St George's Tower and the Castle Mound. A full education programme takes place in the Key Learning Centre, which lies within the stunning Castleyard alongside the shop and Café 1071. Art, theatre, dance and music are now regular events and it is of particular delight to see local schools performing their own plays with son et lumière in the space.

Other projects have included the restoration of Magdalen Bridge and the Martyrs' Memorial, and a joint project with the City Council to restore the Victoria Fountain in St Clements.
