Key dates and landmark events
27th September 2006: CaféFOOD opens. Its offering of breakfasts, sandwiches and light lunches cooked with local ingredients, coffee, tea, home-made cakes and friendly service prove a very welcome addition to the Castleyard.
21st September 2006: The Key Learning Centre is launched with a flamboyant party, with entertainment by Morris Dancing groups and the Oxford Waits and switch on of the architectural lighting of St George's Tower and the Castle Mound.

4th June 2006: Unlocked opens to the public, in a ceremony carried out by Lord Lieutenant Hugo Brunner, County Council Chairman Lesley Legge and Lord Mayor Jim Campbell, before the first visitors flooded in.
5th May 2006: Her Majesty the Queen inaugurates the new development, taking a tour of the site and unveiling a commemorative plaque.
The Trust was delighted to be part of the event, the building site having been cleared for the day. It was a wonderful way to thank all those involved in the project and to celebrate achievements to date.
7th November 2005: The Trust takes possession of the site, and builders Knowles & Son start work on the scheme, enabling the vision to finally take shape.
27th September 2004: The Heritage Lottery Fund grants the Trust the funds it needs for the project, guaranteeing its delivery for the people of Oxford.
