The work of the Trust
The Oxford Preservation Trust (OPT) is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee. The Trust's objectives are:
- to preserve and enhance for the benefit of the public the amenities of the City of Oxford and its surroundings,
- to promote and encourage public interest in and knowledge of the history of the City of Oxford and its surroundings.
The Trust is active in five main policy areas:
- Strategic Ownership of Land & Property
- Special Projects
- Involvement in Planning Policy and Issues at a National, Regional and Strategic level
- Fostering Membership
- Education
The Trust is controlled by a body of 27 Trustees composed as follows:
- 9 elected Trustees
- 9 co-opted Trustees
- 3 Trustees appointed by the University
- 3 Trustees appointed by the City Council
- 3 Trustees appointed by the County Council

The Trust is run on behalf of the Trustees by the Trust Director & Secretary - Mrs D J Dance. She is supported by one full and three part time staff.
